Tickets

Tickets are only available to purchase through London 2012 and official ticket resale agents appointed by LOCOG. Outside the UK and the EEA, tickets are sold by the local National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee and/or their Authorised Ticket Resellers. A list of these ATRs is on the official London 2012 ticketing website .

Travel intermediaries providing other services to Games-related visitors should direct clients to these official sources.

Hospitality Packages

London 2012 are also offering official Games hospitality packages (including tickets to the Games) through official partners.

Thomas Cook, Prestige Ticketing Ltd and Jet Set Sports have been appointed as hospitality service providers by London 2012 for purchase from the UK.

Travel packages are also available for residents outside the UK and EEA through local NOCs, NPCs and ATR. A list of these is available on the official London 2012 ticketing website .

Important note: Tour operators that have not been appointed by London 2012 are not entitled to sell Olympic packages, to run promotions around the Games or to use the Olympic branding.It is an offence to sell, or advertise for sale, ‘Olympic tickets’ if the seller is not authorised by LOCOG.

Be wary of bogus websites and organisations claiming to sell tickets to the Games.

Useful ticketing information

Each ticket will include free travel on public transport in London for the day of the event, to encourage spectators to use the transport system and take in the festivities throughout the city.

If your client is interested in the 2012 Games but can’t get tickets, they will still be able to soak up the unique atmosphere of the event at dozens of different venues around the UK. Giant screens are being set up in many cities and many locations are organising special festivals and parties. The Torch Relay will travel the length and breadth of the UK in the three months immediately before the Games, spreading its own unique blend of magic and celebration. The London 2012 Festival will be the hottest ticket in town, bringing leading artists from all over the world together from 21 June 2012 in the UK’s biggest ever festival.

No tickets will be needed to watch the London 2012 marathon, road cycling and triathlon events.

A 12-week celebration of culture called the London 2012 Festival  will take place from 21st June – 9th September all over the UK bringing together world-renowned artists from pop to film, fashion to theatre and circus to opera in what promises to be a spectacular celebration. More details to be announced in 2011 – watch this space.

Giant screens will be erected at a number of ‘Live Sites’ around the UK showing action from the Olympic Park as well as cultural festivities.
